He was very standoffish as a puppy but became overly affectionate. He has separation anxiety any time we leave the house. he's very smart and socializes well with other animals, children and adults we introduce him to but goes into guardian mode at the house.

Our first Pyrador is our first rescue. He is so calm and stoic. Loves affection but doesn't demand it. Not overly excitable - doesn't jump or get crazy when the doorbell rings. Welcomes both humans and dogs into our home. I do notice that he is cautious with unexpected sounds and movement, particularly at night. He seems to go into guard dog mode, but I know he wouldn't hurt a flea to be honest! We love him.

Titan is only 4 months old and already kennel trained, on regular potty schedule, and knows how to sit on command. He is super friendly with the little boy I babysit, like they are basically best friends! My boyfriend and I got Titan at 7 weeks old, and he's has been so great! We absolutely love him and he is a beautiful dog in general. He is growing very quickly, but of course that comes with his breed. He is very head strong and a little stubborn sometimes though, but as time passes he is getting a lot better about listening and laying down when he's done wrong. I would say this is a perfect family dog for anybody looking😊

Couldn't ask for a better dog. He is rather large at 160 pounds already. Not fat just big. Seems to be very intelligent and is trainable. Has about a ten word vocabulary. Loves children and his cats.

She’s been the best dog our family could’ve asked for! She’s very well tempered and loves all the attention. She’s perfect with all ages of children and is the gentlest dog we’ve ever seen. She loves kids but can be a little scared around adult men. She’s had some health issues in the past because of a birth defect but she’s healthy now. She hates being trained, and most of the time refuses to listen but she is very loyal and try’s to herd us when out and about. She loves walks but is very lazy and would rather hang out with kids all day getting all the attention!

Snowball is very intelligent and affectionate but at times a little too independent and can be temperamental especially when I leave for work. He's charged me several times leaving deep bite marks. I'm the only human he is like this with. Typically he's just a nut case and goofy lab demeanor. Waiting for the impulse control to truly kick in. Been working on this from day one. He's a truly wonderful dog and very handsome. I love him so very much.

Lizzy loves to go for walks, play with the kids, and meet new people and animals. She is very loving and energetic. She is struggling to potty train, but has taken to being crated over night or when no one is home. She enjoys socializing at 4-H training and is very curious.

Female, black, weights 100 pounds. Shes very large!! She’s a sweet and affectionate dog. She’s very protective over her family. When the kids argue she tries to come in between them!lol It’s really cute and sweet! She’s on high alert at night. Any unusual noise she’s up and barking. She loves people and LOVES most other dogs. My cat Bells does not like Rumor, but Rumor never bothers the cat. Even when the cat tries to be a bully and mean! Lol. She listens well most of the time, but does have her stubbornness once in a while. She’s sneaky when it comes to getting in the trash or take food from the counter. She has her energetic moments 1 to 2 times a day and rest of the time is just relaxing with the family. She loves to be near us at all times and loves sitting and laying with us. Easily crate trained and loves her crate now. Potty training took some time but not bad at all. In general, a great great family dog!! She’s a part of us all!!!

We got Uno from a local Lab rescue. We thought he was just a typical Lab mutt and didn't know he was a custom breed until later. He doesn't retrieve anything, and he doesn't like water much so he is more of a Pyrenees in that regard. He is also somewhat vocal, so when other dogs are around he can come across as unfriendly which isn't the case at all. He's also a bigger dog, around 95 pounds, so he can be somewhat intimidating to people when they see him.

We JUST got our Pyrador. (Someone had dumped 3 puppies that appeared to be Lab mixes of some sort.) While giving him a bath, we noticed the double dew claws on his rear legs. After Googling it, and GP showing up as a breed with double dew claws, we believed that we were now the proud parents of a Pyrador. After his first Vet visit, the Vet confirmed that, yes, he definitely is a Pyrador. We are looking forward to seeing how he grows up, and looking for insights into this mix and any helpful information we can find. We've had a yellow Lab that passed away at 15 years old (last year), so we are familiar with the Lab breed. We just need to find out more about the GP side of the breed.

We rescued him from a shelter. He came housebroken, trained, kind, gentle and so so loving. He literally wants hugs all the time. He will slowly and gently stand on his hind legs to place his front paws on your chest, so that way you can hug him. He's extremely patient with our 4 and 6 year olds. He's super lazy! He will walk when we walk him, but then he's done for the rest of the day. He'll plop down, sleep and SNORE!! He has severe separation anxiety which is the ONLY time we ever have behavioral issues. But other than that, he truly is an angel!

Amazing dog. Melts hearts far and wide. Beyond words with kids, cries to be near babies. Tolerates our cats, tried to play together but they don’t know what to do with him. The only biggest con, is that he can’t be off leash, he runs and doesn’t look back, terrifying experience. Shedding is very heavy and all year long. Easily trained. Overall one of the best dogs I’ve ever had or been around.

I got my Pyrador from a0 rescue when she was 8 weeks old. She is very guarded towards adult humans, but loves young children. Also (being from a litter of 12 pups) she loves being with other dogs. Going to the dog park is her favorite activity. She is very submissive, but will react with fear if provoked. She does not readily approach strangers (unless they have small children). Overall, a wonderful companion. I love her dearly. Has severe separation anxiety and hates her crate.

Bentley came from a litter of 11, so he loves to see other dogs and he even loves our cat even though he doesn’t know how to play with him. He’s very smart and learns quickly but he is stubborn sometimes and won’t listen. He is 6 months old and 42 pounds, so he is smaller for his breed. He has a shorter coat and webbed feet so he definitely has more lab in him. He is black and white. He will eat ANYTHING that he can get in his mouth, which isn’t always the safest thing. He is a great addition to the family and loves to cuddle.

I got Cleo from Craigslist. Between her and her sisters I immediately fell in love with how friendly and outgoing she was while her sister was the complete opposite and was super shy. The man did give her to me before she was ready to be separated from her siblings and was younger than what he told me. I have never had any problems with her other than her energy level is extreme. She is smaller for being a year old. She only weighs 40 pounds and is a relatively medium sized dog. She looks like a pyrador like he told me she was but she’s smaller so I don’t know if she was maybe the runt? I’m obsessed with her. I’ve never had a smarter, affectionate dog. She’s perfect

Pablo was separated from his mother much too early. He was a very mischievous puppy. He is just now starting to enjoy cuddling on the couch. He will try to suckle my fingers. He is extremely active and loves to swim, run, dig. We even got him his own small pool to swim in. He picked up basic commands almost instantly with little effort. He is growing into a great dog.

Exceptional! He is playful, friendly and wants to learn. He and our cat love to play. The only downside is that he doesn’t realize how big he is and plays a little too rough with our 10 year old Chihuahua.

We got her at 12 weeks from a rescue shelter. She is blind in her left eye. She was taken there from a breeder who didn't want a non-perfect pyrador to ruin the litter. She is and has been a joy. Friendly with other dogs and a easy temperament. We couldn't have asked for a better companion.

Was told he was golden lab mix. Vet said great pyrenees mix, either with golden or lab. I think lab due to the type of coat coming in along the ridge of his back. He has the biggest paws I've ever seen on a puppy! Gets along well with our 70# Spot.

We adopted her at 6mos. She is big 95lbs at 14mos. She is generally friendly but will switch to guardian mode when strangers approach. She barks alot! A sweet girl, loves to be newar us. She is a little hard to train. We are very happy with her.

We adopted Fitzy as a purebred Border Collie but soon found out he was far from it, he was the size of my other Border Collie by 5 months. DNA test says he is 66% Pyr and the rest is Lab/American Staffordshire Terrier. He is 6 years old and has always been a handful but I wouldn't trade it for the world. He guards the house (even when you don't want him to) but he was bred for that, he is not a fan of meeting new dogs but he is great with the family pets, he LOVES food, and loves to sleep and cuddle.

She is extremely well behaved and tame. Willow has been by far the best pet we have ever had. My husband and I were brought to her at a shelter and immediately fell in love. Little did we know just how lucky we would be. She came potty trained! And was so well behaved. They had also taught her a few commands at the shelter. It took her a couple of months to warm up to us and ever year she gets closer and closer to us. It’s been 3 years now and I couldn’t be more in love with this fur baby of ours. Pros: Loves people and other dogs. Thinks everyone wants to pet her. Not overly active. Cons: Shedding!!! Oh and did I mention shedding. Goodness gracious. White Fur just sprinkles off of her with every wiggle. Whatevers: Not a guard dog.

My Pyrador is an exceptional dog and companion. Aside from her blocky Lab shaped head, she looks and acts like a Great Pyrenees. She has a more serious demeanor with only occasional times of acting silly but she is so loving and sweet to those she considers to be in her inner circle. We joke and say she learned her aloofness from the cat! She is extremely patient and is a guardian through and through. She is very intelligent and the best dog I could ask for. The only negative would be the level of shedding.

Phoebe is a great pup. She is about 7.5 months and 70 pounds. Vet expects her to continue growing for another 6 months or so. She is quite lazy for a pup, unless she sees water. Loves to swim, paddle board, and just law down in shallow water. She also loves watching TV, she enjoys a few action shows, and really likes watching Twilight, especially the wolf scenes. She goes right to the TV and barks when her favourite scenes happen and has the biggest wagging tail ever.She is a chewer, not so much shoes, but she loves cardboard and wood, RIP to my table and baseboards. Very trainable minus the chewing, but we're working on it. Has great recall, and knows upward of 20 commands. Very protective, tends to guard me, not super territorial. Likes people and dogs, but only if she approaches you on her terms, if you approach her she walks away. Skittish with younger smaller children (she was chased a few times as a puppy, which scared her, so now she is on high alert when toddlers and small children approach her and tries to hide, again working on it with kids she knows).Hates walks and hiking. Despises them. Have had to carry her home at 50 pounds because she refused to walk anymore. Will throw the occasional temper tantrum now that she is in her teen years if I take her for a walk past 30 minutes, and will often refuse to go outside so she doesn't have to walk.We live in the country, have brought her to a few metropolitan cities, and she loved it. People generally love her, she gets a lot of attention wherever she goes, even as a large black dog, people are constantly asking to pet her or take photos of her. Thought I'd have some scary dog privilege, but I guess not LOL.

He is the best behaved and most loyal dog I have ever known. Mine is a bit of a mommas boy and it scared of things easily but knows if he ticks behind momma, I will protect him. Doesn’t like strangers coming to the house but once he sees us be okay with the person. He is okay with them. Best friend is a shi tzu and the shi tzu is the boss. If the shi tzu gets mad at him, he runs to momma.

I’m moderately disabled and was given Saigon as a gift. I knew I wanted a Labrador breed. Some friends of ours had accidental puppies between the two breeds. Saigon weighs 100 lbs, looks like he’s all black lab, loves kids all ages, other dogs, he’s very protective and weary of strangers, but warms up to them if he sees us ok with the person. His bark is like a boom. We take him camping and he never leaves us within a 40 ft perimeter. He was easily trained; maybe because I’m home most the time and gave him a lot of attention. He knows the following commands: Sit, lay down, stay, come, (Also comes to a whistle and a finger snap), Be nice, speak (bark), talk (grunt or growl), up, down, walk, park, give love, drink, go find…. Hands down best dog I’ve ever had and I’ve grown up my whole life with dogs. He is always at my side or feet. We have chickens he doesn’t bother also a tortoise. He’s just a bigger model black lab in my opinion. I love him so much.

We rescued Marley when she was one. She had spent most of her first year in a shelter. We have a lot land and a pool. Her first day at her new home we couldn't get her out of the pool. She loves running the back acreage every night and going for rides in the truck and side by side. We go camping frequently and she knows when we are getting ready to head out and can't wait. We recently got back from the Big Horn mountains in Wyoming. Marley was right a home running and hopping in the fields and even made a friend with a mule deer doe. Every night she looks at my wife and I with those beautiful light brown eyes and I swear she is saying thank you. Marley loves her play dates with the neighbor dogs. While she can play rough with the bigger dogs, she always plays gentle with the small ones. She is very protective of her family and home. Sometimes she is like dealing with a toddler and can be extremely stubborn. Overall she is very loving and a huge part of our family.

My Pyrador is 11 weeks and he is on Purina Pro Plan for large breed puppies. i’m not sure on how much he should be eating. we feed him 3 times a day! i would like to know if i should have him on any vitamins and what you’d recommend his food amount should be!
