How to make honey soy chicken drumsticks
Be sure to see the recipe card below for full ingredients & instructions!
- Season the drumsticks.
- Pour over the marinade and let sit.
- Bake until brown and cooked through.
Can you make this with other cuts of chicken?
Yes of course! This marinade is so delicious and can easily be used as a marinade for breasts and thighs as well. Just be aware that the baking time will be decreased for different cuts of meat.
All chicken should register an internal temperature of 165F when it is fully cooked through.
How long can you marinate the chicken drumsticks?
I find that you only need to marinate the drumsticks in the honey and soy sauce for around 30 minutes to achieve a nice bold flavor. Because this sauce doesn’t contain high levels of acid, you can safely marinate them for up to 8 hours.
What do you serve with them?
I like to garnish these honey soy chicken drumsticks with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. They are great served on a bed of rice or cauliflower rice and a side of veggies.
Recipe Tips and Notes
- Chicken drumsticks are fattier than breast and so flavorful.
- The drumsticks come out of the oven tender and juicy.
- When baking, the chicken juice mixes to the sauce to create a flavorful pan juices to drizzle over your drumsticks when serving.
These honey soy chicken drumsticks are so delicious guys! The blend of sweet honey with salty soy sauce is a match made in heaven!
